Second Communications Strategy (2025–2029) Announced
Published:
The Union of Kansai Governments has newly formulated its Second Communications Strategy (2025–2029).
Kansai is home to world-renowned universities and research institutions, groundbreaking research initiatives, and a highly advanced industrial base.
The region consistently demonstrates ongoing, global-caliber research and technology development in frontier fields such as biotechnology and life sciences, green technology, AI, quantum computing, and robotics.
Building on these strengths, the Union of Kansai Governments has formulated a new communications strategy for 2025 through to 2029.
Under the unified DeepTech Frontier Kansai brand, we will communicate to domestic and international audiences that Kansai is a global hub for deep tech startups.
This strategy brings together prefectures and cities—Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama, Tottori, Tokushima, Kyoto City, Osaka City, Sakai City, and Kobe City—to centrally collect, organize, and disseminate information on the startup ecosystem across the Kansai region.
With the maintenance and advancement of the Global Startup Ecosystem Ranking (GSER) as our KGI, we aim to establish Kansai’s global recognition as a premier deep tech hub.
Looking beyond Expo 2025, we strive to accelerate the social implementation of research and foster a region where startups that challenge global markets can continuously emerge.
