Nara Prefecture

Nara Prefecture combines rich historical and cultural assets—symbolized by its World Heritage sites and abundant natural environment—with excellent access to major cities in the Kansai region. Leveraging its strong intellectual resources, including universities, research institutions, and companies with strengths in fields such as information science, biotechnology, tourism, and pharmaceuticals, the prefecture is actively promoting industrial development.
In recent years, Nara has been fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurship by establishing incubation facilities and acceleration programs, as well as building networks that enable startup stakeholders both within and outside the prefecture to connect and collaborate.
Looking ahead, Nara aims to create successful startup role models originating from the region and cultivate an ecosystem in which industry, academia, government, finance, and entrepreneurs are organically connected, thereby continuously generating innovation from the region.
